I have a Nevada license, but I don’t know probate in Nevada, so my Aunt Sue duly consulted with an attorney who had been recommended by a good source. For unknown reasons, he filed the first Probate petition in Reno. It was rejected after four months, because my grandfather was a resident of Carson City, which is the state capitol, and its own county.
Now Aunt Sue is on her second filing. An estate under $100,000 only requires one hearing, so she should be done soon. Grandpa Hank died in October, 2014, almost eight months ago. The remaining issues are two small IRAs, because he did not designate a beneficiary, and that darn mobile home!
Stay out of Probate Court!
